I have decided to go ahead and pick up a Xbox 360 Elite. Decided to go with a Falcon version.

I only want a 360 for a few games and here is the list of games.

Gears Of War
Gears Of War 2
Mass Effect
Halo 3
Fable 2
Forza
Alan Wake
Ninja Gaiden 2
Naruto The Broken Bond

So like I said, is it worth it to pick up one just for these games ? Any multi platform games will be purchased for my Playstation 3. But these are must haves for the 360.

So should I buy a Falcon Elite ?

I just realized you have me quoted in your sig for something I said sarcastically.

There really needs to be a sarcasm font.

That makes me now in 3 people's signatures.

Can I bring any more awesome? I don't think it's possible.

Alan Wake is vaporware as far as I'm concerned. I wouldn't be surprised to see Ninja Gaiden 2 on the PS3 next year.

Alan Wake was shown in Finland or something this past weekend. I haven't heard anything about it since. You'd think a shakey-cam would have filtered out or something.

Exactly how is Forza 2 compared to the Gran Turismo series ?

Not as good graphically but it probably has the better physics for driving. Good track and car selection. The bonus is that it is real cheap to get now.

While the Arcade would be OK. I would still prefer the Elite with the bigger hard drive. And the downloadable content is a plus as well and I would need more hard drive space anyhow.

And anyway, I like black. It will match my Playstation 3.

You listed off more games than I play with my xbox, and I think it was worth it for me.

I bought my Elite for GoW and DMC4. Added more games now but I think it was definitely worth it. Plus it's black. Couldn't see myself playing on a white console :p

Ohh and I would suggest you sticking to the PC version of Mass Effect :) Unless your PC is really weak.

At this point is the elite worth it? The pro or whatever it's called now has the HDMI port, and it comes with a 60GB drive. Not nearly the difference between the 20GB and 120GB. Plus the holiday bundle now comes with two fairly recent releases. At $299 the 360 seems like one of the best system deals going.

I would agree with this, seeing as to how the Elite is simply double the hard drive space and black in color, and that's it. To me, the extra $100 isn't worth it, but to the OP, it may be.

Some people will drop an extra Benjamin to have a black console.

Those people are called racists.

I could be wrong here, But I thought I read that the Elite comes with a few other accessories that the Pro doesn't.

Right or wrong ? If the only difference is color and HD space, then the Pro may be the way to go.

EDIT: The Elite comes with Gold membership while the Pro comes with Silver ? What is the difference in length with those ?

Didn't realize the elite comes with a Gold membership, which does make a $50 difference if you intend to play online.

You get a month of Gold membership for free with the Elite. Normally you have to pay for that. A Gold one allows for online play. Silver one doesn't. Though you can download demos and other stuff with a Silver one too. At any time you can upgrade your Silver account to a Gold one. A Gold one is like a subscription for online play.

Then I think the Elite would be the way to go. It says on Newegg that it is a 12 month online subscription = 1 month bonus according to other buyers. That and the fact that the HD is 120, to me is really a no brainer for a mere $100 more.

Oh, it's only a month? Then that's only worth a few bucks. The pro is still a better deal, IMO.

Get a Pro with the 60 GB drive. 60 GB is still plenty of room and it's the only real difference between them.

No idea about the US Elites, but mine gave me a Gold account for a month only (that's in Denmark). Then it dropped it to a Silver one.

All versions of 360 come w/ a free month of live gold. You also get a free month of live gold when you send in your 360 for RROD.

Bleh...Forza 2 looked really ugly, IMO. I also hated the driving compared to the GT games.

I suppose for the price, though, it's worth a try. I just wouldn't recommend it.

Its not only a month to what I read. It is 12 months + 1 month free. Its the thirteenth month that is free.
