does anyone have any info about when MS will shift to the 90nm cpu for xbox 360.

Also will there be any good 3d fighting games coming to xbox 360 besides just doa4. I would love it if soul calibur or VF made it to the 360 but it doesn' t look like it will happen.

how does a shift to the cpu affect anything?!?

theres not much 3D fighting games announced. just another DOA (code chronus i think its called?) and a KOF Maximum Impact for 360 (which I find weird seeing how KOF is more popular in japan than here and the XBOX 360 didnt even make a dent in the japanese markets)

Less heat, better power consumption? Dunno.

Or at least sends the original KI to Arcade or something. Such a good game. I spent a lot of time kicking tail with Sabrewulf.

90nm, then right now. currently they have 90nm cpus.

65nm chips is expected to be seen in 2007.

as for 3d fighting games. other than virtua fighter 5 being for the ps3 who knows.

there are not that many 3d fighting games coming out, maybe the genre is in a slump with very little titles to go around.

why would you want a fighting game when you know NO OTHER FIGHTING GAME WILL EVER BEAT OUT SOUL CALIBER for Dreamcast.

There is no point in waiting for a different manufacturing process. Microsoft would not make the newer chips faster or they would alienate those early adopters. The only difference would be it would be cheaper to manufacture, less heat, but higher power consumption.

3d fighting games is indeed in a slump, people are so excited about SF2 HF on XBL its a little funny, it's a 15 year old game!!!
i would buy it on Marketplace, but still, to see the hype for this game is weird, I would take a SF3 (whichever version of that) or Super SF2T or the alpha series over this original Turbo Street Fighter on XBL.

i hope they will make the next VF and Tekken on multi consoles, I just didn't see enough of Sony's online plans to be optimistic about how it would be implemented (not to mention the huge ps3 price tag)

Well it won't make it to XBLA since XBLA games have to be 50Mb or less. The HD image for KI is 132Mb so that right there is larger than the allowed size :(

What I would do to have an online version of Killer Instinct ...

BLASPHEMY!!

SF2 is the best SF IMO. Well the one on Street Fighter: Anniversary Collection was the best SF2 ever IMO. You could pick the version of the character from any of the sf2's. like you could pick Ken from SF@T or pick him from SSF2. i played it religiously on xbox live. i even converted my joystick for xbox to work on the xbox360 in anticipation of sf2. now i will be able to finally use it come 12:01am on wednesday :D

i don't like the alpha series much myself. the main turnoff of that game to me was that you could block in the air. i always hated that.

The move to a smaller mfg process would go largely unnoticed by most people. i doubt it would 'alienate' early adopters enough to overshadow the advantages. It would give both lower cost, heat and lower power consumption.

this is why I would rather have Super or Super Turbo on Marketplace than SF2 Turbo (or Hyper Fighting)
I agree the Anniversary Collection does kick ass, with SF3 Third Strike and SF2 Hyper. I love how you can select characters from different games, there is actually a hidden game that does exactly the same thing in the PS2 SF Alpha Anthology, you can even do Parry with alpha characters (I posted a youtube video a while ago of Juli parrying the entirety of MBison's Psycho Crusher)! I still have to unlock that for PS2, but lack of online makes that less attractive than the XBOX offerings.

As for alpha, I like it for the speed, and the super moves without going crazy like in the VS series, and I like SF3 a lot as well (I suck ass though).

the xbox and 360 controller blows for these games, what xbox joystick do you use? and how the hell did you convert it to be used on 360?

Here's my tutorial.

If you know about wiring you can go with just 1 ground wire instead of how i did it with each button, but i was lazy and just did it this way which is a little sloppier but same end result.

I personally like sf2t better than the super sf2 games, so i'm happy with the one they are releasing :)

KI was (and still is) the greatest fighting game ever. large selection of moves, combos, and you can even break combos

i'm not much into fighting games, but it's good to hear that my favorite fighting game of all time ranks high on others' lists as well. it is probably the only fighting game i would EVER buy. xbox360 or not.

Fulgore was the man (robot) but I owned with Raptor.

I remember when this kid was the first to know the "Eyedol code". He was this scrawny asain kid who came up to the bowling alley (the only place with KI locally when it first came out) and used it to juggle all the "pros" there with the club. He thourougly owned each one of them, but would not divulge the unlocking code to them. Bad idea since most of them were rednecks from the trailer park.

They literally beat the code out of him and we never saw him come back again.....crazy times.

I actually own a Killer Instinct 2 arcade game. However I bought it only to put the Killer Instinct 1 game in it :D it's been sitting for a while though and is collecting dust :( No one wants to ever play me because I am so good at it.

KI1 was so much better than KI2.

A friend of mine built the case for me. He's "finkle" on SRK.
