also, if it is 48 pipelines, just remember that if next gen NV and ATI are 32 and are SLI'ed then you got alot more than 48... and then there is the possibility of DUal GPU cards in SLI for a total of 4. Counting out PC's is a bad IDEA.
True true, but SLi rig will run at least $1 grand for 2 videocards alone. Add a fast cpu, mobo 1 gigs of ram, HDD, dvd roms etc and you are looking at 1.5 or more grand. I'd gladly sacrifice graphics quality and 200+ frames in games if xbox 360 is only $399. I 100% agree with you that PCs have no substitute for FPS and strategy games. However, the latter do not require a serious PC to run though. I ran Warcraft 3 at 1280x1024 everything on high with radeon 8500 (4 year old videocard!!!). The way I look at it, PC for FPS, strategy games and consoles for everything else. I think anyone who says consoles or PCs are better is missing the point. If you want to really enjoy games, you need to own both. PCs and consoles should live side by side based on differnet strength they provide. Last time I checked, PCs blow for sports games (lacks the atmosphere of laughing at friends when u score a goal), fighting games, action-adventure games and racing games. That means gamers who hate consoles on these forums are missing out on a lot of great games.
