Xbox 360 Wireless Gaming Receiver for Windows + Harmony?

DecoY

I have a logitech harmony remote and about to purchase an IR receiver for my HTPC setup. The common one everyone's been purchasing is the receiver that comes with the Microsoft MCE Remote. However, I was wondering if anyone has tried using the Xbox 360 Wireless Gaming Receiver for Windows. It's not only cheaper but has a +10 ft range. If my Harmony remote works with my XBOX 360, I'm not sure why it won't work with this receiver hooked up to a HTPC. Thoughts?

uhhhhh...thats an RF receiver to use an Xbox 360 controller on a computer, says so in the description.

And?

His title of the thread says "+ Harmony", so I'm assuming he wants to use a Harmony remote, and unless you have the very top of the line model, it doesn't do RF.

The op initially stated that he is looking for an IR receiver so that he can use his Harmony remote on his HTPC.

OP, when you stated that you currently use your Harmony with your 360, do you mean you have an RF Harmony that you connect to your 360? If so than I read your post wrong and then this would probably work in the same way.

You can use any Harmony with the 360, as it has an IR port. But you can't use any Harmony with that wireless controller adapter for the PC, as its RF.
