Hey guys. I've been playing on my roommates Xbox 360 during the semester and now have a wireless controller. I know these things can be used on the PC too and that would be great.

My question is if I actually need the wireless gaming receiver to do it. It almost looks like they stopped production of the individual part as its almost impossible to find aside from ebay.

I'm hearing conflicting reports that the Play N Charge kit will allow it to work, but other's say the controller still sends data wirelessly, and merely charges through the USB connector.

I don't have a Play N Charge cable to test it all on, so any help on this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks alot!

Play N Charge won't work because it only charges and the controller still sends the data over the 2.4GHz frequency.

Alright, I was hearing that too. Thanks alot man. I went ahead and got a wireless receiver for $15 off ebay. Still cheaper than selling this controller and buying the kit that contains the controller *and* the wireless module, and better than just getting the wired controller since I'll get an X360 eventually and will definitely want the controller to be wireless.
