Xbox 360 Wireless Controller problem

I can't hold down the left thumbstick to run in COD4 or crouch in Halo 3. Is this something I can fix if I take it apart?

Try pulling up on it. You could try taking it apart, just remember how to get it back together. You might of just got some lint or food speck stuck under there.
