LOL, agreed

you just can't say "unhackable" when there are millions bound and determined, with AT forums to exchange their findings to the world! muahaha

of course it will be hack. no brainer. unless they install some kind of system where you open the console it fries all the components.

call in the bomb squad!!!

Unlike anything the hackers have ever seen before. Too bad they already stole one of the dev units and took it apart and began reverse-engineering already. Therefore, well, they HAVE seen it.

"But Mr Satchell admitted no system was fool-proof and that, with enough time and dedication, the security on the Xbox 360 would be broken. "

Think that title of yours might be a little misleading?

maybe G4 said that but that's NOT what Microsoft says in the articles you linked to.

But Mr Satchell admitted no system was fool-proof and that, with enough time and dedication, the security on the Xbox 360 would be broken

uh, yea... that's just restating what I said.

G4 reported around 2am last night that Microsoft claims its XBox 360 to be unhackable
key phrase is
G4 reported

Unless! Microsoft LET them steal it..so they would waste their time on a FAKE xbox360....The plot thickens...

heh....i dont believe it either.

But if you concede that Satchell said it is not unhackable, it renders the G4 article obselete. therefore your post sucks the big one

The idea that even Microsoft would waste time and money developing an actual working game unit in parallel to the x360 for the sole purpose of saving the 360 from teh haxxors hurts my head.

What if it is being made by aliens?

Or ants?

"in 1974, aliens crashed at Roswell, New Mexico's airforce base. The alien technology was rumored to have been incorporated into today's technology. To this day, the government denies having knowlegde of any alien craft." *insert Alienware desktop* lol. maybe it is the alien-version fo the xbox. it does look alienware-like

You missed the pics of it a few days ago?

Oh, and the dev unit happens to play burned discs natively. So take a retail 360, compare it's internals to the dev unit, make a mod that patches any differences, and insert the dev unit's firmware. Instant hax.

Actually, the dev unit (which is black) looks a LOT like a low-profile Dell Optiplex.

Yeah, it's unhackable until someone posts exactly how to circumvent/hack whatever protection scheme on /.'s front page.
