I'm pretty sure they gave Turok a "refresh" or re-imagining for this game. Sounds like he's part of a military squad or something.

I loved Turok on the N64, so I am looking forward to this.

Hopefully they DO release the demo soon, I forgot to check last night.

Eh, I loved the original Turok on the N64, I have great memories of that game. I guess it's that nostalgia in me that makes me hope this new one is good. It probably won't be, though. 🙁

I just called my g/f and asked her to d/l it...she said it wasn't there.
According to Major Nelson, it's available in the UK, but not yet the US...should be soon.

 
I'll have to check it out.

Turok on N64 was pretty good......although it gave me motion sickness from playing it and no other FPS has done that. Used to play Goldeneye for days.

i find it funny that this game is no longer about an indian guy and rather some white guy who's last name is Turok.

I don't know. The characters ethnicity isn't mentioned but he looks like he could be white, indian, hispanic, mixed. Plus, he has a mohawk. 😛

Yeah, that pretty much nails it right there. All main Indian characters have to be named Joseph. It's like an unwritten law or something.

-Graphics are nice, better than most UE3 games i would say.

-Ai seems pretty standard, does nothing special but isnt exactly bad either. Had one experience of a dino trying to cross a bridged section in the caves and it would run off the edge each time and try again, quite amusing!

-Gameplay vs dinosaurs can be fast and fun, diving around and backing away desperately trying to avoid getting knocked down and chewed up. But if you are, things can get annoying, getting constantly knocked down one after another can get irritating. Human fights are less interesting but its good enough and a change of pace from the more frantic dino fights.

-Framerate drops occasionally but nothing too damaging to gameplay.

Overall i liked the demo, fun and good looking, i may pick this up.

Turok isn't available to the US because OXM has a timed exclusive on the demo. Oh well.
 
Does anyone even know who Turok is? It was a comic from Valiant in the 1990's. I can't believe they still are developing on the franchise.

It has been around for much longer than the 90s. Turok first appeared in the 50s.

The N64 game was so successful and popular that devs feel like they can create a game with a 'name' behind it to attract sales. Unfortunately, the games since the first N64 game have largely been crap.
