I've seen some pictures, read a little about it and watched several of the game play videos and trailers, but I haven't heard much about this game. Has anyone played this yet? It looks pretty cool.

I know I downloaded a demo for it a month or two ago on Xbox Live, but I never got around to playing it. The guys at Kotaku posted impressions that it was impressive at one of the game shows. It's one of those games that might garner a lot of attention in January-July but some suit decided that it MUST come out in the holiday season.

Demo didnt grab me, so no... I'm not getting it. not with all the other great things coming out/out.

I enjoyed the demo. But I can't say I enjoyed it enough to buy it. I might give it a rent or two. The gfx was impressive though. I dug the rain and water effects in the demo. This is gonna be one of those some will like it some won't. Look at Halo its probably the most played game to date but I actually enjoyed the demo as much as I did Halo series.

I agree with what he said, except to compare it to Halo is blasphemy. The game is worth it at a $30 price range IMO, but considering all the games out now (Orange Box, COD4, etc) it ain't worth a buy at $60.

I've been playing it since last week (Gamefly rental). So far the SP part of the game is average, the time altering options you have makes things interesting. It's fun to have the sniper rifle, slowing down time, and racking up 4 or 5 headshots before time returns to normal. Haven't tried the MP out yet. This is definitely a rental game!

Edit: I'll also add that the game has some frame rate issues. At times there is a severe drop in FPS lasting a few seconds. This is the first game I've ever had this problem with on the 360. A patch may clear it up but it can be annoying at times.

I've got the full retail in my 360 right now. Yea--it's a little above average, but that's only because of the timeshifting effects and abilities. I've only put in about an hour, so this is a first impression thing. No idea if it gets better.

It just feels so linear and.....straightforward. I know that HL2 is linear as well, but here if feels....more on rails? It's hard to explain and I relaize I'm not making much sense. In HL2, to me, it alwasy felt like there was a world--stuff going on, on the other side of the walls. Like there is a world living around you enen though you cannot see it. I jsut dont feel that here.

Graphically speaking, it looks pretty good except for the modeling. The people in the game sort of look like the Halo models--but clunkier/chunkier. They kind of look like someones college project imported in to the game. The environments, however, are fine. Oh, and everything is really wet. It's like a PGR4 shooter. 😛

 on the PGR4 comment, that sums the wet environment up perfectly. I know what you're saying about the "on rails" gameplay, but that's something I've come to accept (expect) in FPS both on the console and PC. Definitely not the best game out there but worth playing.

Shoot me a PM if you want to meet up on MP sometime.
