Xbox 360 Streaming

Connect360 will let you stream, but you'll need to tinker with your MKV files first. From what I've read, if you install Perian, open the MKV file in Quicktime, and save it as a MOV, it should play back just fine using Connect360. Doesn't support 5.1 with this method apparently.

Sorry not trying to steal your thread or anything. I have had Connect360 installed for a while now but a few days starting November 15 Connect360 doesn't see the Xbox 360 anymore. I haven't changed any settings or anything so I am not sure what the problem is. Any ideas?

No.. it doesn't natively support .mkv.

As for your issue leglez, I'm assuming that you've tried to stop/restart the Connect360 streaming server via the Sys Pref pane? If so, maybe check your firewall, and there is also a note on the Nullriver site.. that says, "The only known possible hiccup is video playback: In order to play back your videos using the updated firmware you will need to reinstall the Media Update available on Xbox Live." This is in reference to the NXE update and Connect360.

What do you think it would be in the firewall settings? I have tried stopping, restarting, reinstalling. And as far as "The only known possible hiccup is video playback: In order to play back your videos using the updated firmware you will need to reinstall the Media Update available on Xbox Live." I believe the computer would still show up on the xbox even if I didn't have the Media Update.

Yea.. that's probably true.. although I haven't used Connect360 in months. Sorry I couldn't be more help.

The firewall was just a suggestion in case somehow OS X's firewall was blocking Connect360 from accessing your network. Which doesn't typically happen, but just thought I'd throw that in there. 🙁 Sorry...

As an aside, Elgato EyeConnect was awfully useless with my PS3. Surprised me since their EyeTV software really shines. Something tells me transcoding for DLNA streaming wouldn't work so hot anyway.
