What is going to be on PC that I wont be able to play on PS3 or 360? The OP wants to know what will get him by playing AAA titles. It was suggested nothing was going to be on 360/ps3 this year so PC was somehow better. I got both but interested to know what AAA titles I wont be able to rent on my console?

I know what the OP states, I'm simply countering a point made irrelevant though it was.

My point is, there is not much benefit either way. PC would have superior graphics but by the same token there aren't going to be many exclusives left for EOL consoles. Only a couple. So pick your poison. Personally I'd want to be able to play The Last of US. Likely to be the last great hurrah of this gen which has gone on for far too long.

Great you picked a game that is a year old that was on sale for one weekend for 5$. Since we dont wont to "ignore reality" lets not ignore ebay. You can buy HM Absolution ps3/360 for 10$ TODAY. Play it for the next year and still get 5$ for it. Total cost TODAY (not on sale or promo) 5$. Same exact price.
FWIW I rented this game on the RELEASE date. Played it for about 5 days. After the main story it was boring. I got everything I wanted out of that game for $3.20. Again that was on the release date, not a year later.

Please go back to telling us how there will be no games 360/ps3 this year.. lol My family plays through at least 30 console games a year. Just dont see any need to buy them
so more excuses? the game is just now 6 months old as of this very day. I bought it for 10 bucks 2 months ago. and do you think I am going to list every damn game that has gone on sale? anyone with a clue concerned about value can find nearly all pc games for going 10 bucks and under with 6 months after release. and of course if you dont want to wait then you can buy the games codes from bundles. of course that does not fit into your argument.

I have a 360, PS3 and pc and AGAIN if you want to buy lots of games than pc is WAY WAY cheaper over the period of 2-3 years. pc games get discounted by much more and do so quickly. digital distribution sales will easily save WAY more money than a typical console game sale.

My original argument was the price of games are comparable with the exception of a couple bundled games. I stand by that. Anyone with a half a brain can also pay the same for a 360/ps3 game. True some collect old titles and that is where the PC has better value. Old games are cheap on all platforms. I think the majority of us have beaten and boxed up most games with the first couple months. Unless your hardcore FPS or hardcore Madden.
My cycle is buy/rent and in a week Im done. Then sell/return and repeat. Cost is very little and I get to experience every game I have a desire to. I have 4 PS3's, a Wii U and 1500$+ rig. Arguing if a PC game is 3$ less than a 360/PS3 game is retarded. "The price is very compatible". Good luck.

DOTA2, Command and Conquer, Starcraft 2: HotS, Total War: Rome II, Arma 3, Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs (okay, technically an indie game, but it's basically an era defining survival horro game's sequel).

The PC gets WAY more exclusives than consoles if you take off the AAA requirement.

Thats exactly why I do any gaming on the PC. Strategy and MMO's that no console user is expecting or likely wanting. I love em. That aside all the big hits are going to be developed for the massive console market. Love em or hate them they are too big for developers to ignore. Not trying to lean either way, but the OP is looking to play AAA console titles. He might as well pay 1/3 of the price and get a used console.

Oh yeah, in general I agree: consoles are less expensive up front at the least (and if you heavily rely on the used games market like Ebay to buy/sell games, it's probably equally cheap, so long as you don't plan on keeping the game).

The developers have figured that out. Ps4 and nextbox both rumored to kill off the used and rental market. Wonder how that will effect PC game prices? Drive them up as gamers have no alternatives?

meh
saving nothing when forced to purch retail games and sub costs
id rather run a dated pc than an xbox 360 or ps3(both eol more orless) and both into total upgrade territory upfront cost wise and overpriced
for the cost of a 360 u could build a trinity rig or pentium+7750 or any number of options
that sys will run 90%+ of pc titles out there
not ideal, not optimal, but still will do ok
