Xbox 360 network question.

I wanted to get my xbox 360 hooked up wireless for online gaming. I dont wanna buy the 100$
adapter. So i went out and got the G730AP pocket router/AP/client. Now that i have it i seem to be having problems with it. The xbox wont detect a wireless setting and only detect a wired setting and I cant go online. If any one has a suggestion or could help me out i would gladly appreciate it.

FYI my router is xbox live compatible (P-330W from Zyxel).
 
OK, so as I understand it:
- You have this thing set to "Wireless Client Mode"
- You have an ethernet cable running from your Xbox 360 to this thing.

From your Xbox 360's perspective, this IS a wired connection.

I think your issue is that you need to tell this device what ssid to connect to and give it security info if applicable. You'll need to hook it up to a PC to do that, it'll be in a web-based control panel.

 
can i do this with the Windows Connect now? like setup the network and put it on the USB thumb drive and then install it on xbox360?
 
Uh... I'm thinking no. It's not the network settings on the 360 that are the issue, it's the settings on that device you have. You have to hook it up to your PC via ethernet and set it up via the control panel.
 
You need to set it up as a wireless bridge, if it supports it. You can't plug in any old wireless adapter or in this case, an all in one router/etc and expect it to go wireless.

My understanding of this product is that it can work as a single-port wireless bridge. It calls that mode "Wireless Client Mode."
 
I have a router in my entertainment center in wireless bridge mode and it is wired to my PC, 360, Xbox, and PS2. Works great. It's running DD-WRT, but Tomato can do it as well.

i have the same thing in my bedroom hooked up to a linux box, 360 and replaytv. linksys wrt54g v6 with micro version of dd-wrt.
 
So i went home and tried to set the settings for the Client, but it wont even let me ping it. So i couldnt access it. Either i got a defective product or my network wont let me. I tried it at my work computer too and it seems i get the same result.
