anybody have any ideas?

and does it void the waranty? (since x360's break like nothing)

thanks

It's a firmware update on the DVD drive, and eys it does void the warranty since you have to open the console.

Very easy to brick the console. Often times, it just bricks itself.

is that all it takes? no mod chip, no need to install a new console?

I might as well do this since I think my 360 is out of warranty anyway.

(cant view xbox sites at work right now)

Isnt the firmware flashing only for a particular drive?

And dont you have to keep reflashing the drive with each Microsoft update?

And last time I looked, it seemed pretty complicated.

Good luck.

I'd greet you with a hearty "Yarrr Matey!" but the 360 does currently have a nasty habit of destroying discs ("etched ring o' disc death").

So playing backups instead of the original discs that you own makes sense until MS fixes the design.

Anyone reccomend getting one of those Top Gear or Blaster 360 easier flasher things? Or have you not had to flash the drive that much?

installing a mod chip is better.
yes, it voids your warranty.
you can get one here

Mod chips do the exact same thing as firmware flashing except they cost money.

Firmware > mod chips
