Xbox 360 mishaps

Kabob

So, what do Xbox 360's and bombs have in common? Apparently airport security people can't tell the difference...

Dunno if this has been posted yet, but I got a chuckle out of it

It's good to know that the "paid professionals" can help protect us from the terror of exploding Xboxes...

ROFL. Two weeks ago I left my jacket unattended on the floor in Burbank airport (went to the bathroom). When I came back Airport Security was crowded around the jacket, calling in the bomb squad.

They're basically federal employees, been to the DMV lately? :frown:

Theoretically, couldn't you fashion a bomb out of the Xbox360 console?
yes, so better safe than sorry.

we live in different times now...

I can't imagine how...it's just circuits and such, a hard drive, optic drives. Maybe you could make an Optic Drive of Terror! It shoots lasers out everywhere and vaporizes stuff...or something to the same level of rediculousity...

But seriously, I don't think there's anything in there that's...combustable.

um...

a bomb involves:
Circuits, and there are ALWAYS fake objects within the bomb to make it look normal...

plus the HD could have contained the explosive stuff instead of a true HD internal, along with countless other ways to turn the 360, or ANY console for that matter, into a true bomb.

I'd imaging it'd be easy to do... Same with a laptop.

With the amount of laptops going through xray machines, they would have to be morons to not recognize the similiarities in an xbox system. Alas, they are *experts*.

Well, I don't imagine they get paid enough to be qualified as "experts." And yeah, I suppose you could dress up a gaming console to look like a bomb. But then again I'd think you could dress a bomb up as almost anything...electric razor, mp3 player...even boxer shorts (well maybe not...)

My sister was stopped for a curling iron. The cord was wrapped around it and made it look like a stick of dynamite. And this was way before 9/11. Like 15 years before.

Would you rather check a bag and find that its a 360, or would you rather let it go and find out later that it was a bomb? They check items all the time. Just look at anyone that has to open their bag up for security. We just dont see "news" articles on every occurance.

I thought you arn't supposed to put laptops through the X-Ray machine. So why would a Xbox 360 go through that machine? O well, if anything happends it will be his fault.
