XBox 360 launch games

Just looked at the launch games for 360 and they look like they are lacking. Unless your a sports fan of course. What is there 6-7 sports games, 3 racing, 2 FPS'ers and a few action games. Will 360 lack in the RPG department like Xbox?

Luckly I don't plan on buying one at launch because I wouldn't just because the launch titles lack IMO. But I do hope to see more RPG's coming on down the road.

But I am looking forward to some user reviews.

DOA4 was pushed back a week and Elders Scroll IV: Oblivion was pushed back to the first quarter of next year. Other games like Ghost Recon and Full Auto were also pushed back. It is a shame because they would have really rounded out the lineup nicely but I'd rather be playing quality games a few weeks later than buggy games now.

Still, PDZero, PGR3, Kameo, COD2, Condemned, and your sport game of choice should keep everyone busy.
 
You're right... There is no RPG. But other than that, it's a VERY strong launch lineup. Better overall than any of the previous generation launches.

I will probably get three titles next week, and it's not an easy decision to me. Most likely, I will narrow it down to Project Gotham Racing 3, Perfect Dark Zero, Kameo, (and possibly Madden 06). 🙂

EDIT: Crud, I forgot about Condemned. Hmmm... Maybe that instead of maybe Madden.
 
Does anybody know if they are planning on remaking the Madden\NCAA 07 engine for the xBox360 and more specifically making it work in HD?

This version of Madden was completely rebuilt for the 360 (and eventually the PS3). I'm sure they will do the same for NCAA.
 
I was debating buying a 360, but I hardly ever play my regular xbox anymore except for Bubble Bobble. This game list doesn't really leave me wanting... I'm not a big fan of sports games, more into RPG (which currently is non existent) and FPs - however the PC I think has a better selection of FPS games out now over the consoles.

I play consoles for sports and high speed action games (a la Burnout 3) so that list is perfect for me. I tend to play RPGs and FPSs on the PC so I couldn't care less about those.
 
I am primarily a pc gamer these days; however, after looking at the list I am mildly impressed...especially considering how quickly MS is getting stuff into consumers hands. Earlier today I was trying to think of what games the ps2 launched with and I must say...I couldn't even remember any. Looking back...the only game I played was ATV offroad fury...i guess some ssx...but in general it was terrible!!! Looking back I still can't believe the dreamcast quit selling as it had a lot more to offer at the time.

Is this true ? I was hesitant on getting madden because I assumed it would be a half-assed port thrown together to add a big name to the launch title list.

I may have to grab it next week if gamefly dosnt come though in time. They are listing a few of the 360 games being released today.

There are a few in development. ES4 of course, Bioware is working on several, the people that did Otagi on Xbox have a launch title for Japan, the Final Fantasy creator is working on 2 titles and Square is porting FFXI, some elf game using Unreal Engine 3, probably a Fable sequel and a few MMORPGs are out there.

 
That is what i am getting this year:
Project Gotham Racing 3 > will buy
Perfect Dark zero > will buy
Dead or alive 4> will buy


Maybe burnout revenge because developer at x05 said it will extra , depending of th extra may buy it for xbox 360 otherwise my xbox version will do me good

kameo Element of power > maybe i will buy but only if the review are good
Codemned : Criminal Origins > maybe , if review say its good
 
I like sports, action and racing games so this list is amazing in my opinion. I will be getting 3 out of the following: Madden, NHL2k6, Call of Duty, Perfect Dark Zero, Project Gotham Racing, Condemned.
 
I already have CoD2 for the PC, so my short list is: Condemned, Kameo, PDZ, PGR3, and maybe Madden if it is significantly better than the Xbox version. Just waiting on the reviews to help me narrow it down...

 
The xbox 360 launch games, quite frankly, look horrible. There really isn't any game I want, besides Madden06. I'm still buying it of course 🙂

How about something good? A bunch of rehashed sports and racing games, and some FPS's (which are better on the computer anyway) is all it has right now.

I guess that's completely subjective, as there are quite a few titles there that I (and many, many others) would consider "good."

Not as horrible as PS2 launch line up or PS1 in japan which didn't have one fullversion but demo !
 
This launch line-up is a GREAT line-up despite people's preferences. (I won't be buying one just because I'm not in the market for a console) Amped3 should be getting more attention than it is. PGR3 will take advantage of the XBOX Live features as well. The ports and EA sports games aren't as interesting, (outside of NFS:MS, maybe) but the others should be what you look at.

Are you buying on launch or waiting for the good games to come out to get the system ?
 
I was pretty sure I wasn't buying a 360 and this list of games pretty much seals the deal. Of course, I'm strictly a PC gamer these days but I could always use a decent console RPG every now and then. I'll probably end up bypassing the 360 altogether considering I had the original Xbox for a week before I sold it.

What a waste. 🙁
 
Im having second thoughts as well. Because one, I just bought a 7800gt, second, I bought a L90D+, three my computer owns, four, you have to pay to play online with xbox, 5 it costs 400 buckaroonies,6, I dont have an HDTV, 7, games are madd expensive. But...I can play with friends with split screen and stuff, and some games only come out for 360 like PDZ and PG3. The games I really want are going to be on PC aswell. I really want Oblivion, UT2007,Gears of War(will be on PC after), COD2.
