Haven't we learned that gaming is the one things that do NOT benefit from multi-cores? Unless those 2 cores are just there for WMV encoding, there is really no point. PS3 has a better design with 1 core and many vector units.

The 48 pipes is probably half pipes, like how the NV40 can do 2 Z or color ops, and have 2 shader math units per real pipeline. At least this gives away that the R520 will have 24 pipes.

Those are leaked, and quite a few people here *cough*halik*cough* believe the specs are complete BS. We don't have 100% confirmation if they're true or not. At least the XBox Live S/G system is confirmed.
