Posting from my Treo but will check thread occasionally.

Update:

- 36 Pro bundles ($639), 10 Core bundles($539), per their ad as of Monday closing time.
- Supervisor told us he might let us "pick" our games, instead of having to take what's pre-bundled... no promises though.
- No midnight release, supervisor came out and told us they would hand out tickets at 7:30am, doors open at 8am.
- Checked Target at Oakridge Mall area, there were 12 people there as of 9:35pm... number of units and type uknown.
- Walmart (McCarthy Ranch) handed out tickets this morning, so all 30 units were spoken for as of noon today.
- Best Buy (McCarthy Ranch) was only selling bundles, ranging from almost $800 up to $2499! They including some crap extras like cables and stands and power surge protectors... talk about price gouging.

Damn, no midnight release at my local Fry's in Arlington, TX .

I just came back from my local Walmart Supercenter. They got only 24 Xbox 360 and there were already 30 ppl in line at 10PM CT. I'm gonna check some stores tomorrow morning or waiting until my preorder at EB will be available. They told me that should be in December. I hope December 1st...

I wonder if you can just go grab the system and head to check out. I'm sure the check out people aren't too keen and just scan the system.

This XBOX craze is non-sense!. I will wait till January or even till PS3 is out. What is wrong with people these days! Can't they wait!!!.... Oh I am sure the mod community is working hard to get a mod chip out and some 500 GB HD too.

Ha yea RIGHT! MS will not even think of dropping price untill the PS3 is released, and that might be when you see your first price drop, but you have a good year before that happens!

You wanna know why I know this "shortage" is horse[crap]? Because every damned Tom, Dick, and Harry hardware/game reviewer/website seemed to get his hands on an XB360 prior to launch. MS is trying for some early Christmas cheer. If they were in such short supply on the A-Listers would've gotten their mits on the early production units.

err they allocate some of the product to promotion you know. they can prioritize things not exactly complex. building excess factories for a single event would be stupid and wasteful, even for microsoft, so any hot roll out is going to be riddled with shortages.

FYI Walmart over here (Wheeling, Northen suburb of Illinois) had 2 premium and 6 core systems, and the first to line up was some lady at 6.30pm yesterday. The first 2 got the premium system, the rest got the core. I got there at around 6am just now just to try my luck (been sleepless the whole night anyway) and waited for the manager to come out handing out tickets just in case they have extra (I was #10), no luck.

Nearby Sam's club has 20 bundles and there were enough people lining up there already.

Target across the road has 10 system according to the people who camped out there, and there were more than 10 lining up.

Those guys who were there the whole night deserve to get it, even if it's for profit, because it's been around 32 freaking degrees outside!

stores generally have rules against that esp big ones. the manager would have to be in on it.

Grabbed mine this morning at 8. Spent $742 (Pro system w/ 4 games and an extra WIRED controller). They didn't have wireless controllers, and no Perfect Dark Zero.

At this Fry's even the employees had to wait in line and no discounts for them either.

Damn I'm tempted at flipping this on Ebay... just say a Pro system w/ no games go for 1400!
