probably a stupid question but I have never bought anything from the Marketplace...

lets say I was semi interested in the DLC for GTA IV...and it is going for 1800 points

would it ever drop to the point of 1000-1200?

I am not dying by any means to play it but I enjoyed regular GTA VI and am curious if it is work the remainder of my account points.

Thanks in advance,
Lee

Depends. Sometimes yes, sometimes no. Sometimes specials are run (like the last two weeks).

It very well might. Some stuff does, some doesn't. The GoW map packs all eventually went to free, the CoD 4 map pack finally, after probably 9 months had a "half price weekend," very rare for CoD games.

The GTA IV DLC I wouldn't think will drop anytime in the near future, it may never. The retail disk probably will though.

Don't have an answer to your question, but I will say this, I became extremely bored with GTA4 and DLed the lost and damned addon and am having 100% more fun with it than GTA4 game.

Rarely. Every now and then theres a sale, and every now and then, an arcade game drops in price. Dont think Ive ever seen DLC get permanently reduced.

But anyways, TLAD was worth $20. Its like a full fledged expansion pack, the kind we're used to paying $30 for on PCs.

MS may follow Steam's lead given how sales massively increased total revenue (not just # copies sold) when Steam has had 50% off sales.

GTA IV DLC isn't likely to be in any sales though for a long time since MS paid a $50 million advance against royalties to get the 2 exclusive expansions and they want to earn that back.

I would say no from my experience. I thought that I found a bargain last weekend when I picked up Oblivion for $10 at blockbuster, I assumed since the GOTY edition retails for $30 (comes with Shivering Isles and knights of the nine) that I would be able to buy Shivering Isles off of the marketplace for a reasonable price, it was still 2400 ms points(29.99)! Ended up reselling it for $10 and picking up the GOTY edition.

Also, since things are bought with points and not straight cash - technically sometimes things can be considered on sale - just indirectly.

There are occasional deals for 1600 points card - be it getting it free with a game purchase, or one for $15 or so. In that case, the value of 800 points is different than if you paid $20 for 1600.

It depends. like for rainbow 6 vegas the maps eventually became free. Same with graw. I can't remember if graw 2 become free or not. If you're cheap like me and only buy a few games online (all I have is marble blast and poker smash. not include some freebies like the pub games and texas holdem) sit it out and wait. lost and damned though I don't think will be free but discounted though. maybe when they release a another version of GTA not DLC but at retail.
