xbox 360 controllers

what technology do these controllers use? I've many different wireless devices and nothing stacks up to the distance and accuracy as these controllers. They go through multiple walls and barriers and are still precise. Ive always shyed away from wireless keyboards/mice because every single one i purchase always disappoints.

would love to see a wireless keyboard/mouse with this technology......

I'm pretty sure they are blutooth. Remeber that the effectiveness of any wireless technology has allot to do with the quality of the transmiter and receiver being used. Small devices like cel phones and head sets don't have very strong transmiters.

the last bluetooth device i had was a logitech MX-5000? it was terrible. Ive used a ton of wireless controllers in the past none of them have even come close to these controllers. Microsoft has just done a great job i guess

Most none blue tooth devices will run in the same 900MHz range that some cordless phones do. They can have a good range but they get allot of interfearence from other devices. Bluetooth has a range of about 30 ft as i recall. But most of the time wireless mice are made to have an effective rage of about 3 or 4 feet to help keep battery usage low. It takes allot more power to get teh full range out of bluetooth or any other wireless tech for that matter.

I'm pretty sure they are bluetooth also (almost 100%). That being said, I certainly agree with you. I have both a PS3 and a 360, and I can say without any fanboiness that MS certainly did a better job on their controller than Sony did. Not only does the charge last significantly longer, but I have NEVER had a single connection problem in all the time that I've owned my 360. I just sent one of my 2 PS3's back to sony due to a bluetooth sync issue.... silly thing refuses to re-pair with controllers at certain times (wierd problem... I'm sure Sony will resolve it).

Xbox 360 controllers are not BT they use a proprietary Microsoft RF in the 2.4 Ghz band. Sony PS3 and Nintendo Wii are the only systems that use BT.
