it took way more then a few months before they dropped the price on sega genesis, super nintendo, dreamcast, ps1, ps2, & xbox. good luck with your few months.

MS may lower the price to counter the release of the PS3. You can always hope for that.

They aren't going to do that. Instead they're releasing Halo 3 at the same time as the PS3 launch.

LOL, word! I didn't pay the ridiculous $699 initial launch price of the 3DO. I bought my Goldstar 3DO a few months later for "only" $399. 😀 Ah, great times...the original Need for Speed blew my mind.

Yeah, I'm not sure why there are people convinced that it's going to be 1/2 price in a few months. Look how long it took for the current XBOX to drop by that much-it launched in 2001, and just late last year (2004) did it drop to $149. Best you'll probably see is maybe a $50 drop sometime by Christmas '06.

Not if the PS3 is delayed, which I can promise you it will be. We won't see the PS3 in America until this time next year. It will be out in Japan by early mid summer
 
Yeah these definately won't be half price anytime soon. They may drop 50.00 in 6 months to 1 year at most, and would be more likely on the 1 year mark. And yes controllers are 50.00 but only the really sleek wireless controllers are 50.00 the others are 29.99. I pre-orderd mine at Costco before they pulled it from the site, they were basically giving Project Gotham 3 for free. it was 479.00 for Deluxe XBox 360, xtra wireless controller , play and charge kit, and PGR3. I am guessing they pulled them either because they have limited quantities, or they put them up earlier than they were suppose to , cause they may have changed the bundles on them slightly to make more profit!

I agree.. the Costco bundle was better... except for their crazy $25 shipping charge.

If you read his post carefully you will notice that he means half the $600 that people will pay on Ebay to get their hands on it before Christmas. Then in January or February people will be able to walk into any store and get one for $300.

I would put Costco close to the top of that list. They are very good about ordering as large a quantity as possible for big releases like this!
