I find it hard to believe MS will support he 360 for very long. MS is a company that has always worked its best interests. The Xbox one had almost ZERO support after the 360 came out.. with some good reason it was not succesfull so supporting it was not going to make them much money. The 360 is different, but still MS tries to push out old tech when new comes in (just good business sense to get us on the next cash cow) MS has grudgingly supported older OS do to public outcry, not of any good will.

Microsoft is actually better than almost every other software company when it comes to maintaining backwards compatibility.

Apple for example is pitiful at it.

When games take sometimes years to develop, you have to expect that they have a lot of code that was created for the current gen at the time. It's not so easy all the time to just bring everything up to par for the new system. It will be easier though to start on an ultra high end PC and work down from there. No longer needing as much proprietary code for specialty memory configs and special CPUs and SPUs etc.

I agree, they're brilliant. Hell at work I have programs from the mid 90s that run perfectly fine on Windows 7 (and probably 8).

Not to mention how long they supported Windows XP for. Apple barely support applications from the previous service pack. They force you to buy new apps.

I bought in the last two years a new production game for Sega Genesis.

64 mbit RPG called Pier Solar. Brand new.

Just saying...
