XBOX 360 and Keyboard

I recently got the Final Fantasy XI beta and downloaded the manual from the web-site and in the xbox 360 manual it shows a list of controls. In these controls it has the xbox 360 controller and it also lists a keyboard.

Has anybody plugged a usb keyboard in and try it out does it work?

I seem to remember reading in XBOX mag that they hooked one up without a problem. Haven't tried personally though.

A USB keyboard will plug in and work just fine... 😀

I heard keyboard is only for text... and will not work in games.

If you could plug in a keyboard and mouse and use it for gaming i'd get one.

edit: i'd be ready to go logitech elite is usb and mx-518 is usb.

Yea, I also tried out the controllers and they work on the pc as well. The wired ones at least. The wireless ones do not.

Wonder if the wireless ones work w/ the Play and Charge kit since it does convert them to USB?

The wireless ones work over RF, so they will not work w/ the PC even with the play and charge kit.

However, there was talk about MS releasing a RF receiver so that you could. What became of this is anyone's guess.

Yea I heard that the usb on the charge and play kit only supplied power and did not transfer any data so they wont work 🙁
