Xbox 1 X is gonna be $499

Elixer

MS just spilled the beans on their E3 channel. $499 in November.

They are also gonna have original Xbox games come to Xbox 1S/X systems as well.

Too expensive and isn't going to sell a lot at all. PS4 Pro isn't selling a ton and I bought one. Xbox One X (which is a stupid name) is just too expensive. Great hardware, no doubt about that but it's just too expensive. I would have bought one at $400 but I'll wait for the inevitable price drop months after release.

And another fantastic, unbelievable, tremendous edition of Forza(what are they on now, about Forza 36?).

I entertained the idea of a PS4 Pro, but it never really enticed me and the same with a $500 Xbox. They also don't have the carrot of exclusives since everything is either ported over to PC or Play Anywhere for first party titles.

If the Xbox had strong AAA single player games like Sony's The Last of Us, Uncharted, or Horizon, I'd look forward to XOX: Hugs and Kisses Edition. As it is, pretty much all I saw was multiplatform or multiplayer.

That conference was completely underwhelming. Also what a terrible name.

$500 for an upgraded console is way too much. Other than the early adopters and initial surge I think it's going to flop at that price. They also gave us literally 0 games that are "must haves" for Xbox One.

I'm glad they showed a lot of games instead of focusing on media bullshit, but damn, there is literally no games they showed that made me think about purchasing one this year. I think the last Xbox One game I bought is Forza Horizon 2. I don't see another game purchase in the near future at this point either.

Your console is in a sad state when the thing that gets the most applause is announcing backwards compatibility for a15 year old console.

I was hoping to be wowed with at least one super strong exclusive that we didn't hear of before but there was nothing

What a piss poor showing by MS, not impressed at all

When you're not really announcing a new console generation (this is a refresh at best) and the entire industry is putting out one lame sequel after another, or refreshing the same old game with new graphics, is there any way to really wow anyone? I'm honestly wondering as I don't think anyone is really going to wow anyone this year. I can't help but feel that the entire industry has backed themselves into a slump where nothing really new and interesting is coming out. It's hard to stand out when it's all bland.

The only reason I'll be getting one is I have $400 worth of gift cards to the Microsoft store. Otherwise I'd pass at this point. I like the idea of it, and maybe it'll be worth it. I think it's one of those things that will either just be amazing at 4k, or it'll be just a bit prettier than the PS, which wouldn't be worth the price. The sad part is that'll take time to show, not something that'll be a major selling point out of the gate. It'll take reviews of games to drive that one out. I do have a fear that this is going to be the new way that consoles will be done.. with incremental refreshes instead of gen jumps.

Like a Halo? Is there really a super strong anything this gen that isn't just a new update of an older IP?

Horizon Zero Dawn is the first one that comes to my mind.

I haven't played that, I've heard it's good.. I can't really think of any ground shakers for the Xbox though.. I had thought "Recore" was going to be a bigger game than it turned out to be.

I thought Xbox One was a stupid name. Xbox One X? Doesn't even sound like they were trying to come up with decent ideas for a name.

And whilst the new hardware is significantly better than the OG system, it doesn't mean much by itself. Much like the PS4 Pro, I don't see this system taking off until developers start releasing new games or new IP that can actually take advantage of the new hardware. And that's going to take a fair amount of time.

That's the thing, every game has to be able to run on the base hardware of both systems so everything will just be ported up to the PS4 Pro and Xbox One X. They are not going to release exclusive games for the faster hardware. They don't want to separate their user base.

Metro Exodus looks impressive, but that's supposed to be on the Windows Store and Steam too. To me the most disappointing part was how little they showed of Cuphead. I was blown away by its reveal at E3 2015 but the final game must suck if all we got was a 15 second ad for it when it's an XB1/W10 exclusive launching in three months. 🙁

I didn't think M$ cared about their user base... Forza Horizon 3 is on PC now so that leaves Halo 5 (mediocre at best) and not much else. I don't see their plan with demoing more powerful hardware other than to simply do it just because.

PS4 has HZD, Last of Us Remastered + Uncharted, The Last Guardian, Bloodborne and the new God of War is due next year. There's also Until Dawn and Gravity Rush for the more obscure tasted.

One of the biggest things that keeps getting said this gen is that the PS4 has the better hardware, and prettier graphics. This is Microsoft's (pretty sad) attempt at countering that. At this point in the game unless Dev's start using it, it's not going to matter that much to most people. At this stage it's about titles and who you can play with.

by the time any decent X1X projects are completed something new will already be prepped for shipping... usually competition helps the consumer but this is sort of a stalemate.

i've always said that the games make the console; anything else is just filler to show off pretty graphics. PS4 had its turds too, notably Shadow Fall, Driveclub, The Order and Knack etc... the bad news is that these types of things will probably not go away when each new console is released.

My BIGGEST problem with console gaming today is lack of couch co-op titles. Even Halo 5 killed that off which upset plenty of people. I'd like to see that trend reversed.

Metro didn't say Xbox exclusive so it's safe to assume it'll be on the big three platforms which is a good thing. The more Metro the better.

I was just hoping for one killer app announced only on Xbox. We didn't get that.

EA on Saturday announcing a really cool looking co-op only game called A Way Out.

Did you guys not see Minecraft 4K? I mean, come on, 4K! 4K the blockyness of the original!🙄

Only 2 or 3 titles actually looked OK, didn't really care about the "kids" games though, and I really doubt any parent is gonna throw $500 based on those games.

About the only other thing it has going for it will be the 4K bluray support, so, I can see people buying the xbx1x for that alone, and games are just a extra bonus.

When the Xbox One S came out it was a cheap good 4k Blu-ray player. I'm already seeing players around $200 so by the time it's out it won't be a deal in that area anymore.

Its such a retarded name. When someone goes into a store with little info which many do, it's not easy to tell which is the better version. Pro is an easier way to designate its better, X doesn't.
