I just got xb a month ago and I'm just gonna activate my 2 mo. free trial later tonight. I don't have a headset but I just wanna give xbl a whirl w/ halo 2 or ghost recon 2 b4 buying a starter kit combo. Oh, and is Rainbow6: Black Arrow still worth getting, or should I just get a new game? (I'm waiting for Mercenaries to come out next wk but it's only a single player offline game.)

If you want to save money on a subscription fee, look into Xlink Kai. It's a tunneling program you use through your pc, and you can play Xbox, Gamecube, and PS2 games on it now. Theyre also working on Sony PSP support last I heard. Just a thought.

Plus, it's harder finding games with relatively matched skilled players. R6: BA is a lot like R6 - it's basically an expansion pack of new levels. I don't think it was really worth it. That's just me though

if i have xbconnect or xlink kai, will i still be able to also play on xbl? or will MS block out my xb like they do for ppl that have modded xb's?

No, use of the tunneling programs won't lock you out of XBL. But once you try them, you may lock yourself out.

Compared to XBL, they are just plain cumbersome, lagg, and not worth the PITA. For all of the features that it provides, I'll gladly shell out a whopping $4.16/month for XBL, thank you. 🙂

yea, they are cumbersome...i just signed up for the free 2month trial but im liking ghost recon 2 more than halo2 rn, esp cuz of coop
