X850 XT Question

Because it's the platinum? And the memory on the 800XT-PE is at 560 versus 540 for the 850XT, the main chip is the same clock at 520.

I'm convinced these graphic card companies come up with all these different editions to keep people confused. You need a decoder ring for each company to know which is which.

I know it's the Platinum. I could see why they would make the clock speeds slower for the X850 Pro or the once potential X850 XL but to make the X800 XT PE have higher clock then a X850 XT non PE just doesn't seem palatable to me.

And according to ATI the X850 XT non PE has a higher Pixel Fillrate then the X800 XT PE. How is that? Better memory?
