x850 xt pe vs 7800 gt

Im amazed at the reply's for the 7800gt...

I for one although i keep buying them for comparisons... have never found an nvidia card perform better than an ati card....

I try to keep up with technologies and i am always comparing ati and nvidia...

I have bought the x850 xt platinum version... and all i can say is wow...

The only fault with the card... the stupid use of the old rage theater chip as opposed to the theater 550 chip...

This is only to the video cature area.. so for gaming it doesnt matter....
Im one not to really compare the bench mark things as drivers can be tweaked to show better results... The true test is playability... I compare the cards using the same games and switching from a lower end pc spec and seeing how both cards perform...
while i havent splurged on a 7800gt yet.... I had both the x800 and the 6800gt and there is no contest in my eye... ati is on top .... now soon ill get the 7800gt to compare.... but I have never been impressed with Nvidia.....
Only my opinion... Dont flame me... explain why the 7800gt is better cause i have been put off them....

Even bought a 6600gt (silent pipe thing) for my 6 year old to play thomas and friends ...
not impressed in the slightest..

And I am using the latest ASUS motherboard with the pcie universal slot (sli) so i can bridge 2 video cards together... Im that hungry for power.... Will splurge on the dual core processor cause its Fathers Day 🙂

Summing up... Why is the 7800gt better??????

Ps : though the x850 p takes up 2 slots cause the fan system takes air from the second slot.... If you have a motherboard with built in sound and net and etc the loss of a pci doesnt matter... but its not usable thats for sure 🙁

ever read a review or benchmark? i hear there's a great site called anandtech that may have the 7800gt reviewed on its front page....until then don't spread your ignorance.

Review from the biggest ATI zealot forum in existence (I'm sure you're well familiar with it since you seem to buy every card that comes out). The 7800GT eats the 850XTPE like a raw chunk of horse left for the vultures.

I was only saying that I have always bought both... and I always end up disapointed with Nvidia...... Well I will wait and see when i get my 7800 🙂

 
Bear in mind that there are games out today that can bring even a 7800gtx to it's knees at the highest resolutions with aa/af on.

and did you read mine, read a review, then post. then if you still think the x850xt pe is better you won't be ignorant, you'll just be dumb.
 
I would get a 7800 gt and get another one in two year to make it into SLI. That time it would be cheap and capable of new game. Such as the 6600GT example, still faster than 6800 ultra in Doom 3 @1280*1024
 
7800GT and x800XT are simply different generations of video cards. You can't compare them. Wait a month till ATi comes out with new gen cards and then choose.
