Allstarshop should be boycotted and the person who purchased that card, well it's their money but they're still an idiot.
 
Funny how people like you are so ignorant as to read benchmarks correctly. The 6800NU is being compared at 1280*1024 not 1600*1200, that is also not a set benchmark, thats an average of gaming in one level.
 
Wow it is price gouging. I thought it must be a mistake until I saw this Last time i even consider buying from allstarshop. Retailers should place themselves above this price gouging.

yeah, that one step up in res is worth another $700....it does not matter to me though as i have a 6800GT that i paid $336 for almost a month ago 😀

No, they're well established rip off artists. The sad thing is they've sold XTPEs for upwards of 800 already. As long as there are people dumb enough to pay...

Of course, they didn't deem 16X12 playable on X800Pros, so they were stuck with 12X10 and a minimum fps of only 23 and an average of 51.

Hmmmmm. 6800NU 26.8 X800XT PE 28.6 and the X800Pro brings up the rear at 21.4.

Before you call people you don't know "ignorant" Big Chief, you should be more sure of the facts. When I say the 6800NU plays Doom3 as well as the X800XT PE, and way better than a X800Pro, I've got a fair idea of what I'm talking about?

to be fair, rollo, the 6800 runs doom III better but that is just about the only thing it runs better

not to mention, you must be an idiot to pay $999 for a X800XT (or any other video card)
 
I'm finding the 6800GT rather attractive.

Allstarshop isn't normally bad. I've found some good deals there. Last summer I bought a Radeon9800NP for $203, not bad.

Actually I may have seen an OpenGL bench or two where it's ahead, but your point is well taken.
Obviously, the $500MSRP X800XT PE would be a better card to own than a $300 6800NU. Now, can you say the same about a $500 6800U?

That has to be a typo. I"ve visited them on more than on occasion and they were a pretty nice operation. Then again, the green eyed monster does funny things to people.

I'd play on a Voodoo 5 before I'd pay $1000 for a video card, and I could probably afford it.

No mistake. last week it was 899 now it 999.... Im sure that 100 increase is because idiots are actually buying that card. Allstarshop has good deals sometimes some times I have seen them be a total rip though IE like right now.
