Check Pricewatch. Allstarshop had 3 x800 XT PE models, all for 999$. Yes, they are gouging.

And I'll bet dollars to donuts that they don't actually have them in stock. Why would Allstar shop have them and resellers 100 times more popular wouldn't?

Because Allstarshop is actually pretty popular. I'm not sure why but they are. Also I bet they do have some but they go slowly because they are charging a grand for them!!!! bUT people ARE buying them with out a doubt.

The X800XT PE was bad but this Ultra is just as bad. Looks like folks are gouging all around.

Guys dont even bother with Rollo. No matter what, no matter how much evidence is against him, he will always THINK he is right. And, he will ALWAYS put down ATI. He is a fanboy, and the funny part is, he denies that he is!

My 6800 doesn't suck, and the X800 XT PE going into my main PC won't either (and I'll spend a quite a bit less than $1000 for both)

Hey but the card is made entirely out of pure Platinum. Have you seen the price on Platinum? It's more expensive than gold. Where's the Diamond Edition?

omg fsstrike came back this gonna be hilarious!

why does rollo stating the obvious fact that the 6800nu is going near toe-to-toe with XTPE make him a fanboy? All these people calling names and no one seems to want to refute the fact that multiple sites (including AT) put the two right next to each other in performance...that sounds like fanboy to me. All these Doom 3 benches have pretty much changed my mind; I was dead set on a GT but now the vanilla 6800 seems like the sweet spot for the price it's at.

Honestly, If this card was for my $20,000 plasma screen hanging next to my picasso's, I would probably pay that much for a 6800 ultra ee.

God help them if they didn't overnight it.

It was less than 2 years ago that we were calling people idiots for paying $500 for a videocard. I really hope this isn't the trend, but it looks like it may be.

This is a rare instance where demand far outweighs supply. $1,000 videocards will be the norm someday, but not within the next 5 years IMO. The suggested retail on these things is still under $500.

If they come out with 512mb versions of these cards soon, you can expect prices in excess of $600, that is a certainty.
