Nuthin like a mud slingin fest to make the day seem better. I would own either of the elite cards, Nvidia or ATI. If Ati would have had dual vga card avialability at the time I bought my 6600gts I would have considered buying. I play a lot of doom 3 and I dont own an ultra card. I would like to have purchased one but cant afford it. I feel pretty lucky to be able to build the machine that I have now. The price of hardware will always be a cutthroat biz but I aint gonna cry bout it. If I have to buy the latest tech every two weeks just to have a little fun gamming then something is wrong. Ati? Nvidia? Who really cares. Sounds like an AMD vs Intel war in this thread. Due to the fact that Nvidia came out with dual vid card tech first( I know the voodoo system was the first) it seems they will be a step ahead of Ati. When Ati comes out with dual vga tech that is mass produced, Nvidia will already have a new gpu that is far faster than the 6800 and it will be sli capable Im sure. Some people like it rare, some like it burnt to a crisp.
My only question is: Can you play doom 3 at "ultra performance" with the res at 1800 and the filtering at 4x with an ati card and have the smooth performance of Nvidia? Seems to me Nforce 4 and Ati would make strange mix. I will stick to the brand that has been round the longest and who makes my onboard controller chip.

Edited for intoxicated rudeness. :(

your gaming claims seems fabricated...can you name a single game that you actually played to completion ? it just seems you're more into playing with hardware than with software, which is ironic

Ati reminds me of Linux, works but dont really have the patience to figure out how well. Though I would own an Ati card over linsux anyday. How well do the drivers work in x64? Who wants to find a certified driver that supports SLI for x64? Can you say beta? When ati comes out with a good set of "dual vid cards" I will try them. They have a lot to prove in my book though.
