The title basically sums up the problem, the computer is new, I built it a few days ago. It works great except for this, the videocard idles around 40C according to Rivatuner and under load gets as high as 70C after about 45minutes, then crashes and VPU recover activates. Its a powercolor PCI-E vivo. What should I do/try..RMA? New heatsink?
Thanks!

Point a casefan at the GPU and open up your expansion slots to let the hot air out.

My X800XL is currently idling at 47, and it has also broken 70 while playing games. This seems to be rather normal temps for this card. Maybe you just have a bad one.

go to xoxide.com, and under slot coolers they have a nice cheap ($5) PCI slot fan (80mm), and just point that directly at the video card, should help to move alot of the hot air that is possible trapped around your card

they also have slot coolers that push air out of the pci slot ($5 also), that would help also
