i think i read somewhere that the x800se is going to have 8 pipes and clocked signifactly slower than the pro.

Does the SE have 128megs? If so, they could be talking about in very high res, with AA/AF the 9800XT will be faster, because of the more ram.

That's as good a guess as any. I'm eager to see the pricing, performance, wether it'll soft mod and/or overclock well, and of course, see it available in the AGP 8x flavor. It seems to me the 6800 is getting a free pass right now, and it's time ATi fired back in that price/performance range. EDIT: It just occured to me that considering how many they will probably move through Dell, that this could be a good first volley.
