I got a "refurbished" x800pro from ati about 8 months ago and basically since I got it i have had a "little" trouble with it ....... . What happens is that after playing graphic intense games like cs:s with all the candy maxed out - the game will start to turn south. Guns on the screen will have white splotches on them, my map will just be a blur, the menu items will all be fuzzy together and whatnot and when i shoot most of the screen will go white instead of just an area near where the muzzle should "fire" .... when i go to my desktop after this has happened when i minimize and maxamize windows they will leave a red/splochy trail of where i dragged it too. If i "refresh" the screen it will erase it but again if i load up a page or minimize it will be right there again. For a while I could just restart my computer and it would alievate this problem untill i played a video game again which would start the cycle over. This problem USED to only happen say .... once a week after a long period of gaming. Now however it happens everytime i play a game and occures after only maybe 10 mins of play time. I used to think it was just heat causing it because my dorm room at college was a bit warm ... but now that i am at home our house is a cool 67degrees AND i keep the side of the case off ... and yet the probem is worse than ever. I have not ever overclocked this card.
Is my video card possibly dieing? Or could it be a problem with my motherboard? I really have no idea.
Thanks for any help.
