If this is legit, it could be a better-than-x850 xt pe-card for $150AR!! sweet.. I am suspicious though because there is not 1 review(ok actually there's ONE review there), and only 1 photo that doesn't even really show the card that well. X800GTO2's are going around $200 now, and this was a bit cheaper, so I was wondering what you guys think about this.

I was kinda laughing when you said 'legit' when I found out the deal is from Newegg. Ignore that one review, which refers to 'common video proc. error'. When he/she says 'Commonly has video processing errors', it sounds like 'I didn't uninstall my previous driver' to me.

Anyway, this is a hot deal. If I didn't buy X850XT w/ VF700 for $ 180 on the forum, I'd jump on this.

YMMV...apparently, it's common for the Sapphire X800GTO2 with the "blue" PCB (as opposed to the red PCB) to have the R430 GPU which comes with either 12 pipes and has to be unlocked and/or does not OC quite as well as the R480 GPUs.

From the described errors, I assume the problem with the card for the reviewer is that it's not cooled properly. You might want to invest in an extra case fan and a heatsink for your card if you get one.

does that mean the ones w/red PCBs are already unlocked to 16 pipes? I definitely will get the red one if this is true, on top of the fact that it overclocks better. I looked at one of the guides for unlocking the x800gto2, but the guide assumed everyone reading it would know a lot, and I couldn't find a guide for newbs, like myself.(don't really know how to manipulate DOS, or how to even get into it) Can anyone confirm?

wow thanks! that card used to be $450 and I didn't know the prices dropped that much, should be excellent for me and i dont give a **** about SM3 or HDR as it makes no difference to me HAVING FUN which is the point of games, not criticizing its graphic aspects and complaining. thanks again.

With the X850XT going for $190, I'm not sure if it worth it to get the red PCB X800GTO^2 for $180 AR.

I'm with you...the HSF on the X800GTO2 is kinda whimpy, and even though lots of peeps claim it's sufficient to OC to X850XT speeds, I'd spend the extra ~$25 bucks and get an actual X850XT card.
Yeah that would be the better way to go nowadays... i've got the x800gto2 from when it first came out... the cooler is OK, but if you do some hardcore gaming with it overclocked to xtpespeeds, you'd be much better off with a ATI Silencer Rev5.... which is about $25
But x850xtpe's are still $350+... which is way off the scale for not THAT much more speed

There might already be a thread for it. I don't recall if I got it from another thread, or actually looked it up on newegg. But if someone is interested in checking, feel free to start a new thread if there isn't one already. I'm too lazy 😛

Checking newegg, I noticed that the refurbs cost more than the new ones. I wonder if this is some sort of price mistake.

On the other hand, I did buy the X800GTO^2 before I saw this, so unless I pay shipping to return it, I'm pretty much stuck with it. I don't really need the power of an X850XT, but now I feel like I'm missing out.
