You should definately get the Sapphire X800GTO2 for $199. ALl you have to do is overclock it and you'll get near-X850XT performance. Unfortunately Newegg has just raised the price to $219 so I would wait a few days for it to go back down (hopefully). Check the thread in the Hot Deals forum for more info.

If you do decide to get the X800GT, get the Powercolor version, it's clocked higher by default and overclocks very well.

It's pretty easy, you just install a small utility program like Ati Tray Tools, for example. The program will tell you what speed the core and memory are running at and give you a slider so you can raise them. You can just raise em up to X850XT speeds, then go play some games and see if it's stable. If you get artifacts or game crashes, you've gone too high, so drop it back down a bit. THere's also an artifact tester within ATi Try Tools so you can get a general idea of whether the speeds you're trying are stable. I really don't think there's much danger of damagng the card from overclocking this way.

Ha ha. More like go up. Demand can only rise as word of mouth travels.
