Yes, it is FINALLY out. The 256mb x800 XT Platinum Edition retail version built by ATI is in stock at CompUSA for the MSRP of $499.99

Order quick, cause they come and go. I've been watching their instock supply for about 3 months now. This week is the first week to actually have them ship. They have been running out quick, but dont get discouraged if it says "sold out", cause they usually get them in the very next day. As of now, they are for sale and shipping!

Wow, that was quick. Now the site is saying "2 - 4 Weeks". But don't worry. It said that last night, and then this morning they had more and changed it to "24 - 48hrs"

Not quite. There is still a major shortage. The site is now saying "Sold Out". Hopefully there will be more tommorow morning.

I would have to say it's not a hot deal. Just because it's available (and isn't even that now) and not over MSRP doesn't make it hot.

maybe but it's still worth posting

Why did you go and tell everyone about this? I checked for it to come in stock all day at work and was ready to buy it when I got home at 5:00. Now it is gone. I had my CC in my hand and I was logging into my girlfriends laptop and then BAM "Sold Out"

No, you aren't. These prices are insane. However, there isn't any way around this.

There is a way around this, it is called supply and demand. If idiots would not pursue these "hot deals" then the manufacture would drop prices. It is that simple let the public tell them that they are not going to pay these prices and all of a sudden the prices drop and the supply increases. As long as people are willing to pay this much for a video card companies are going to keep raping us for the money.

Actually, if all the nerds would just actually think about it for 2 seconds to themselves and say "hmm... for $500 bucks, I can get laid over, and over"... then those video cards will go down in prices. Just like all the idiots in California that are driving house prices through the fcuking roof, if they just stop and think about it for 2 seconds "hmmm... with that LOW interest rate (not really) and that added $100K in principle, what's that gonna do to my total debts?", then the fcuking madness will stop.

Wait so you're thinking of buying a house or what? First you get a 4 door Accord... now a house. :Q Uh oh. There goes your Skyline. 🙁 😛

$499 is steep, I have paid at the most $350, and now I dont think I'll pay more than $300 since gaming consoles are quite good in satisfing me (ESPN football 2K5 bears for teh win!), although this Radeon 9700pro is almost 2 years old...hmmmm

Yeah but the video card won't give me Herpes or AIDS. Skanky man, real skanky.

I purchased 2 X800xt PE's when they were instock at compusa. I received one and the invoice says that they shipped 2. I called and told them what morons they were and he told me that he has to open up a case and dispute the shipping weight and see whether or not I received my second card. The must he can do for me is wait 5-10 days for a refund because they have no estimated time of a new shipment.

They got the one to me within 2 days and shipped same day.

I asked them how they could make a mistake like this and he told me, "Sir, these are actual humans putting the stock in the boxes"

yeah, like paying retail is a HOT deal???

Hmmm, ask yourself.... What games are going to take advantage of this? Maybe HL2, but who knows when that is coming out. Doom3 uh... Yeah... it's already out.

I'd wait since there really isn't software for this card (YET)...

Oh and the WAIT begins. I think the ONLY deal here is buying one for 499 so you can Ebay it for 699.

Happy Waiting... BTW, I'm so happy that the WAIT is over! 😉
