x800 XT PE Availability?

Hi all,

I was looking forward to purchasing the x800 XT PE after the holidays, but it doesn't seem to be available anywhere -- not even on ATI's own website. I called ATI, and they claimed that the "ETA for this product" was early January, but of course that's subject to change.

Can anyone confirm that?

I'd have no problem getting the 6800 ultra instead, but the primary game I've been playing lately, EQ2, has had issues with the entire 6800 series (despite a deal between NVIDIA and Sony that has the NVIDIA logo displayed whenever I start up the game...). If I'm going to shell out the dough for a new card, I darn well want it to work with my main game!

Can anyone provide any guidance?

Who knows. ATi released the X800 PE LX EX or whatever they want to call it, months ago and no one has seen one on the shelves.

Yes, but how many of THOSE are simply X800Pro VIVO cards flashed to XT PE?

Sorry about the price typo. It is a PE, look at the box and check the part number.

You're right about that last part -- my bad 🙂

The thing is...my local CompUSA claims to have the x800 XT PE on order, so I'm hoping that they'll get theirs at the same time as the ATI online store gets theirs (or soon after). I have gift cards waiting to be spent, and my roommate works part-time at CompUSA so he gets a fairly sizeable discount...

Just hoping I can be patient 🙂
