Just saw a guy selling some X800 XT PE on the ebay, i dont know if links are allowed but he doesnt have paypal buyers protection, but he does accept paypal, he has about 46 positive feedback 100%...

I emailed him and he sent this reply

No I don?t have the cards in hand. I ordered 300 of them 3 months ago. And I have received all but 50 of them. I have 13 cards left now out of that order and I am selling about 1 per hour. The pictures I have are the ones on the auction. Please contact any customer from my feedback section to verify my trustworthiness. I put 2 weeks down because I have a tracking number showing them getting to me in a week. I understand there are scammers on eBay and that people are cautious because of this. Please believe that I am a legitimate business man and offer refunds up until date of shipment. I hope I have answered all of your questions. Please feel free to write back at any time.

I don't know the first thing about eBay trading, but I have two questions. Did he sell all 300 on eBay? Why not more than 46 feedbacks, then?

It's against the rules here at AT to sell something that you do not have in your immediate possession, so I would imagine that he's violating Ebay's rules also.

this is his response, just got it

I own a gamers shop in Charleston and have sold about 85% of them here. Ebay is something I play with when business is slow. As for putting sustems together. Well I am a Cisco and Microsoft engineer. So I build networks on a large scale.

You can find X800XT PE's around. I'm trying to sell one I picked up one from a friend of mine at a local shop. It is a OEM, but he says they have been getiing them sporadically. I only bought it because of a nice discount and I thought I could get rid of it locally. I already have a 6800ultra so there's no need for the X800XT.

Based on that last post I would NOT trust this guy as far as I could throw him. It sounds like he's lying to you in order for you to do what he wants. I don't think that people who build large-scale networks typically sell things over Ebay, but who knows. I'm just saying that he's sure making some bold statements, and I would say it's highly unlikely that everything he's said is true.

I've been scammed on Ebay before and don't trust it. You'd be better off being patient and waiting. It's better to have a card in 2 weeks than to not have one at all.

Yeah im not gonna purchase one now, thanks for your opinions... He gave me an address and phonenumber... I googled the phone number and it turned out to be a different name and different address, then he said he lived somewhere else but same phone number...

I do alot of investigation and get opinions before buying off ebay, and the fact he had no buyers protection was kind of risky...

Thanks all...

Nah- that could be legit. I bought a Fuji F410 camera for $200 off some outlet center of a camera store in Texas on FleaBay.
