ATi does have better shader support (even though nvidia shader support IS now very good - unlike the last gen). ATi also seems to win hands down when it comes to performance under AA/AF.

I do not think it can be denied that nVidia have the best driver development team on the market. The performance boost seen with both the 4x.xx series and the 5x.xx are testomony to that. If you ignore the cheating that is now in the past (BOTH nvidia and ati have been caught in the past) i think nvidia will pull some more performance out of the 6 series core.

So my vote goes with nvidia and the hope i will be able to afford a 6800GT one day.

quiet, you. OBVIOUSLY one card blows the other one out of the water ;)

They're both too expensive for me, but if I had to pick I'd *probably* go with a 6800 (when they come out) because more mature drivers will probably make it a faster card than the x800. With fewer "x"s.

ATI's "cheating" doesn't bother me at all; it really DOES look like an effective way of saving GPU time. I mean, you wouldn't AA a straight line, why AF something you can't tell?
