it's basic a down-clocked x800pro with 256bit of 256 mb ddr memory not gddr3. but if it's still a 12pip video card, then it's a very sweet buy for $315.
can someone confirm it's a 12pip or 8pip?

They're supposed to be an 8 pipe, 256bit, 128mb, 400mhz core card. Newegg might have messed up the specs. Either that, or the specs I've seen floating around the net are wrong. But, I'm pretty positive about the 8 pipe, 256bit specs. This card looks like an overclocked 9800XT.

8 pipe. Just think of it as a 9800XT Ultra.

Unless someone figures out how to unlock a few of the pipes.

Sapphire doesn't list an X800SE on their website, nor have they put out a press release about it (and don't you think we might have seen some reviews or articles or something if the X800SE suddenly became available?). I have no clue what Newegg is selling there, but I'm 99% sure it's NOT an X800SE.

thank u guys, after half hr's search from yahoo, i found out this is x800se, but a oem product.
from pricewatch, i found this

8pip, 6vertex processing units.
it's a down-clocked x800pro, not overclocked 9800xt.
i think the price should be around $300 for a 128mb version, but 256mb for $315 is a good deal compare to 6800.

The X800Pro has 12 pipes, not 8 -- it *could* be a downclocked X800Pro with 4 pipes disabled. This card looks, essentially, like an overclocked 9800XT (with the R420 features). I wouldn't buy it unless I had a much better idea of exactly what it was and how it performed.

And that AT article is just speculation (note the question marks next to the core names/specs); ATI has not (AFAIK) announced anything official regarding the X800SE.

please open the pic of this card and compare to other x800pro, the arrangement of this card is exactly same as x800pro.
i would like to agree that this card is 4 pip disabled x800pro, period.

That is the card I got in my recently ordered Dell Dimension 8400. The cost of going up to the next card, the GT6800 was quite abit. I do wish the Radeon X800 SE had 256 mb rather than 128 mb, but it should hopefully perform well enough for me.

How does the X800 SE stack up performancewise against other cards. I'm sure it will be a big boost over my Geforce 4 ti-4200!

It's an 8 pipe card, which is why I said it is LIKE an overclocked 9800XT. If it was a 12 pipe card, then it would merely be an X800 Pro underclocked, but that's not the case. Yes, it is based off the R420 core, though.
