X800 Pro Woes

Maybe this should have been called crappy old mobo woes, but that remains to be seen...

Just got my X800 Pro, uninstalled all the old NVidia drivers (with driver cleaner 3), popped the X800 into the box, rebooted and ........nothing. No response/output at POST. The hard drive seems to be loading windows just fine but I get zilch from the vid card...not even a flicker. Could this be a mobo issue? I've got an older ASUS P4B266 (1.5V AGP) with the "latest" BIOS (Late 2002 ) a 400 watt antec PS, 256MB Crucial DDR PC2100, and a P4 1.6 OC'd to 2.2.

Anyone have any ideas to check out before I go drop some cash on a new mobo?

Thanks,

Woody

Clear your CMOS and check power connections to the card. If the old card was running fine, I doubt you somehow killed it while installing a VGA. Besides, everyone knows static electricity is just a myth. 😉

LOL Try telling that to my employer. I don't know what the big deal is, but they get DAMN touchy when I don't wear my leash (ground strap).

I used the power connector cable that came with the vid card, so I'll be trying out some others I have lying around just to be sure. Of course, I intentionally connected the hard drive to that cable to test it (no HD activity = cable baaaaaad) and the HD cycled up fine. Go Figure
