X800 GTO/Fireblade Fan noises

I'm looking for a new PCIe card to replace the 6800 for a rig, I don't do a lot of gaming on this rig and leaves this on 24/7. I'd like a very quiet card but I've had experience with the x850 XT which is a noisy piece. The x800 GTO uses similar fans and build and I'm afraid it will be just as noisy, but the sweet performance v price ratio of these GTO card make me think that these are the perfect cards for this, my question is which one should i get that make the least noise? anybody have experience with a number of these to make a recommendation? No need for GTO2, since I'm not going to overclock these or unlock the pipes (at least not immediately)

The fireblade card is the same cooler as the x850xt and can be annoying. I replaced the fan with an artic silencer and I can't notice it from my other fans which are faily quite. There are other GTO cards availabe that have the sinlge slot design and i would assume they are not that loud. The Fireblade overclocks alot more though, it has the 1.6 ns mem insteat of the 2.0ns

Also i noticed in your signature that you have a 6800GTO, I've never heard of the card?
Maybe the ati gto you are looking to purchase is not much of an upgrade? just a suggestion.

FYI - The fireblade's extra pipelines are either non-existant, or do not unlock. As far as I know anyway.

And from what I've seen, these cards run relatively cool, so if you don't see a lot of gaming on this computer, you can just turn the fan down...

The fan is quite loud, and actually running it at stock speeds is better than running it at lower speeds because there's a point where the fan stops humming and starts a rattling sound which is MUCH more annoying than the "soothing" (regular) humming sound you hear from a fan.

Get a non-stock fan, I hear the zalmans are pretty good but never tried one myself.
