X79 Issue

Sent out my Asus Sabertooth X79 for RMA. When I got it back I assembled everything exactly the way that I had it.

Here's the issue:

When booting it doesn't recognize all 32 GB of memory. But, when I go to CPU-Z it shows 32 GB but at Dual Channel. Also will not clock up to 1866 MHz it gives me like 1668 MHz instead. In the BIOS under tools it shows an abnormal SPD with 2 slots and sometimes when booting it sees only 8 GB and the rest are shown installed.

I've reseated my RAM several times and even reseated my CPU. There are no bent pins or TIM under the CPU. If I switch RAM slots then it still gives me the same readings.

I have matched voltages and latencies on the RAM both are 1.5V and 9-9-9-27 @ 1866 MHz.

I'd be on the phone with Asus RMA dept.. Doesn't seem like they sent you a working board.

I would at least be checking with their support, seeing what can be done. Best to get a working board before warranty is out.

One of the RAM may be defective... Try 1 by 1.
What does it says in SPD Information in BIOS..
All Slots OK?

Mine was doing the same "It was halting on the Boot LED" thought a SSD was going bad. De-dusting and a driver update seems to have fixed this.

As far as your memory issue, make sure each stick can boot on it's own. Then try in pairs or even mix up the pairs. I'm sure you have done this but maybe you over looked the other channel as one of the first channel slots might not be working. Wish you well! Good luck.

Does the OS recognize that it has all 32Gb? I have heard of some instances where the BIOS recognizes a certain amount and the OS recognizes more.
