Going to buy one shortly for use as a temporary card. 6200 is about $31 and x600 se is $37. What would you get.

Will you be doing any gaming on this card? And whats your next planned card? If ATi, go with ATi. If nVidia, go with nVidia.

Chip maker doesn't mean anything to me. I'm perfectly fine by going with ATI now and maybe switch up to a 7900GT later. I may play a little WoW on the card, but nothing too intense.

But ati delivers better image quality. Go with the x600se and then after saving up, get a good ATI card.

What potato28 is saying is that you will have less complication issues if you go from nvidia to nvidia, or from ati to ati, because of drivers. Anyway, I have the x600SE Mobile in my laptop, and my dad has the 6200 in his desktop. Comparing the mobile x600 to the desktop 6200, I would say the 6200 is faster. I could play HL2 @ 1280x768 with low-medium settings on my x600SE, but I could play COD2 @ 1600x1200 with low-medium settings on my dad's computer with the 6200.

Dude no way, Its just not possible. cod2 will not run that well on that card at all. you would be lucky to even play at all with that card.

Since 5 out of 7 voters are voting x600se, get the x600se. Besides, you have a Geforce 7800GT, so why are you even thinking about this?

well even if you wanna change low-medium to low, that card simply cannot run COD2 at 1600x1200 period, no matter how much ram or fast of a processor you have.

Hmm, I guess you are right. I should consider resale value. However, x600 does sound better than 6200...
