X600 resolution problem

Hi i have a problem related to an x600 card from ATI. I installed newer drivers, and the screen resolution is messed up, it defaults to 800x600 whenever the computer is turned on, however the problem lies in that the entire screen does not display on the screen area, to see the edges of the screen i have to scroll with the mouse like in an RTS game. Im pretty sure this is related to the new drivers but im not sure how to solve this problem so any help would be appreciated.

This is an x600 PCI-E on windows XP 32 bit with the latest june drivers for this card.

In CCC there should be an option not to use DDC. Untick it and then manually select the highest resolution your display supports in the drop-down menu.
