X800GT is a joke, 6600GT would be a better buy.

Unless of course, the X800GT is substantially cheaper than the 6600GT, then I might reconsider.

This is a joke right? Lets see, 8 pipes vs 8 pipes, but 128 bit with 128 megs vs 256 bit with 256 megs. You decide, Benches.

Dude hes just talking shizwit. He probably knows hes wrong, but nothing will make him admit it. I wouildn't waste the time.

I agree...the 256mb x800Gt is cheaper then even the 6600GT 256mb version by a bit and it is still running the 128bit memory......

I cant argue with the numbers...

Well actually guys i have the evga 6800 ultra/LE which with 16pipelines and 6v shaders clocked at 325/1100 just informing you guys because it think you guys think i have the normal 6800LE. Oh yah mine is clocked at 345/1130

i think the x600 was supposed to rival the 6600gt...but it sucked so then came the x700...which still wasn't as good.

ya ATI was initially charging $200 for the X600XT. they wouldn't have released the X700 if the 6600GT wasnt so good.

dude...ask that guy what he was smoking...hahah...
x600 pro is just another 9600 pro
tell him to suck it up and buy a x800 pro at least
please!

Real Benches

According to HOCP, all these extra tid bits are nothing but a marketing gimmick. In these benches they perform similar with the 6600GT coming on top half the time, even though it has 256-bit memory and 256MB of RAM. Little is gained from this.

So, you might as well get the extra tid bit of performance in OpenGL and SM3.

PCI-E:
6600GT $139
X800GT $159

So look at that, similar performance, better price, better features. 6600GT is the clear winner.

FEAR and almost all the games that are coming. ATi is going SM3.0 route (natural) so almach1, don't try to make it worthless, it is not, is called newer tech

And by the way, SM3.0 is Pixel Shader 3.0+Vertex Shader 3.0

SM 3.0 will still be an option for a couple of years yet. The games that come out during this time have to be compatable with SM 2.0b ala ATI cards because there's alot of them, too.🙂
