X58 without 6gb controller

I currently have an asus p6t deluxe v2 motherboard without sata III. I am looking for a controller that will not limit the throughput of the new ssd drives with a read speed of over 500mb. Can i use the U3s6 or another x4 card, or will i be limited by the x58 chipset?

EDIT : So it appears that even though the u3s6 is X4 it only uses a 1x lane. so your throughtput would be capped.
