X58 SLI boards

Too bad it seems that this deal is limited to the X58 chipset. If NVidia expanded this program, I think it could be a success.

Give it two months and it will be cracked and on the web. And almost all boards will be able to use it.

True that.

I wonder how many companies will opt for it in the first place though?

I don't see why top tier mobo makers would have any issues with it. They pay NVIDIA $5 per mobo, and pass that on to the consumer. $5 is trivial when you consider that a 780i SLI board currently sells for over $200 and a 790i board goes for over $300. As a consumer, an additional $5 to have a motherboard that supports both SLI and Crossfire is $5 well spent IMO.

I'd get such a board... except I take issue to paying more than around $150 for a motherboard. 😛

im probably still going to wait on getting a hydra 100 board if i do make the jump to nehalem. lot of features it will support that neither crossfire or SLI support, and im probably going to wait that long for the X58 platform to mature a bit first anyway lol
