I just finished building my new rig with a Lian-Li A16B Case. I also have an ASUS P5E X38 Motherboard w/ a Q6700 on a Zalman 9700LED.

My Cpu temps are great in the BIOS (26 C. @ idle) but the MB temp. says 35 C. / 95 F.

I have good Scythe case fans running @ about 1200rpm (the new ones that are sold out on NewEgg).

Are my MB temps. too high or is that about right with the new X38's ? I know they draw much more power then the P35's but that seems a little high to me.

Please advise ~

Update: I was just looking over Xbit's review of this MB and found that they had the exact temps. on the MB same as me so I guess its normal. It never goes above 35 c. while sitting in the BIOS for a about an hour.

I guess the X38 Chipset just runs a little hotter is all. I'm feeling better about it now.

Ok. so now I get everything installed, seems to be running fine & I install ASUS's own PC Probe II Utility to check my temps & voltages from Windows and it Highlights my MB Temp. and says its running above the default threshold of 30 C. It's sits about 35-36 C.

I haven't stress tested yet but will be doing that shortly. I installed Vista 64-Bit to see 100% of my 4GB of RAM too. No other issues with the system so far but with the rest of my system running so cool, I find it odd that the MB temp is so much higher then my CPU, which again idles around 27 C.

Any other thoughts on this? How about any other P5E owners out there or X38 Motherboard owners?
