Sorry if somewhat silly question ? i was moving 500gb+ of staff from main pc to htpc and noticed that while X38 ? based Asus board produced 24Mbs ? my G33 ? based P5K-VM managed only 17. I use same hdd, connected to main Intel?s controller with two other present on higher channels, no speed limitation, no funny acoustics modes. Same settings in BIOS. All my drives are the same model, same capacity, files copied as 460GB single archives from a full 500gb to a recently formatted one. Same CPU before you ask (different oc), memory amounts slightly different (same 800, same timings) ? 4 and 2Gb, but with identical OS (up-to-date) and no residents that should hardly matter.
