Were the S775 X3220s discontinued with the last round of price cuts or something?

Neither tankguys nor clubit has had them in stock for quite a while.

I was hoping to pick one up.

why not just snag a G0 quad?

Better bin, and im already sitting on a quad.

If im going to move up i want the best bin possible.

If it takes too long ill just get a penryn if i can get one with a halfway decent multiplier, which looks like it might be rough.

Do they overclock better? Lower Temperatures? Anyone know?
(I Just thought of this so I'm going to see if google can bring up anything)
Probably OC similar/same as standard G0 quad, but b/c they are higher binned server chips, can likely handle higher temps. Hence, OCers looking for that extra 100 - 150 mhz would probably push them harder

ClubIT just called me, it was an error, the X3220s they have are not G0s.

They said they will call me if they get any in stock.

Order Cancelled :(

Damn you tankguys!!

All week they havent even had a listing for the X3220.

Today i open up the processors page and its there!!

I click on it and http://www.tankguys.com/produc...9_140&products_id=1770

Backorder :(

and it looks like clubIT even sold out of X3230s.

3 sellers on pricewatch have them, only one even mentions stepping and it says it can be B3 or G0. None of the 3 sellers are all that reputable.

Listed as in stock at clubIT again, calling them as it seems they charged my card that was on file (we agreed on this over the phone, but they were supposed to call me and verify).

My G0, Q6600 does 3.825 @ 1.48-1.49Vcore. Problem is thats after vdroop. Before vdroop i need to set it at 1.51 idle. Something im not too happy with, and im too lazy to do a vdroop mod.

The X3220, i think his will probably do the same but with a tad bit lower voltage.

Best chip i have is my ES G0. Thats clocked at 4.05 If i recall the vcore setting on it was like 1.51-1.52 tho...

Well, after my X3210 B3 experience, I won't take a chance on a 3220. But I may get 3 more Q6600 G0, they rock !

SLACT is a G0 Xeon.

Complete night and day difference, much like the G0 Q6600 vs the B3.
